It is a great privilege to be asked to support my husband during his year of office as the Mayor of Pendle. I am looking forward to representing and raising the profile of our beautiful Borough. I was born in Nelson and have lived and worked in the area for much of my life and consider the beauty of Pendle to be second to none. I intend to liaise with a variety of local organisations because together we are more effective and together we can make a difference.

My career and life’s work has been in education and has spanned 40 years across Primary, Secondary and the Special School sectors. The inspiration, nurturing and well-being of young people has always been paramount and central to my thoughts, helping them to aspire to reach their goals. I therefore have a keen interest in continuing to promote children and young people’s resilience, emotional  and physical health and well-being during my year in office.

Can We Help You?

Are you a small local charity or organisation doing great things and looking for a grant?

Buy-a-bag appeal

Through no fault of their own, some youngsters can find themselves homeless with their only possessions being what they have on them. Sometimes, young Mums and/or Dads may have children with them.

‘Buy-a-Bag’ campaign can provide youngsters with some basic items for just a few days with the personal items they need – cash will not be given.
